Pease-blossom

I mentioned about the fashion showcase way back, RIGHT??
so in case you didn't know, I picked Costume Design, a subject from the Cultural Faculty as my elective.
Firstly, because it has no exam and fits perfectly into my timetable (NO LATE CLASSES!)
Second, I have always loved making things, and we all know that. (maybe only me haha)

I sort of regretted halfway because it didn't seem as enjoyable as I thought it would be, but had to stick up to my own choice, because add and drop week was over hahaha. and also because only losers quit. #badass

it was a solely assessment based subject, and our final and also biggest marks contributor is to design a costume for a fantasy character, to be worn on the showcase. I thought I was going solo until Misaki saved my life and asked me to join her XD, but up until today I still have a lot of imagination for the Bella's wedding dress that I initially planned to do.

too much ranting, I'm sorry, took me long enough to come back blogging again so I guess my ideas and words accumulated and are threatening to burst out now, lol.
this, is the development of sketches. oh, if the title hasn't made it obvious enough, we were doing Pease-blossom, one of the fairies in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

we had a lot of prettier ideas but all easier drawn than done. so here's the final sketch!

Our model Huiwen on stage!!
she really looked like a doll and it seemed like the character was tailored for her =D

tadaa! close up of her makeup, done by Misaki and her course mate who came to help

=)

Fishtailed her hair and blue spray!
we wished to find Tiffany blue hair spray but once again were defeated by the world. haha.
we can finally have the hairstyles only seen on tumblr and Instagram!
I was super excited. lol

with my partner and our model. both so beautiful, which explains my sad face. haha.

and the lovely friends who came to support =D

the costume which we made out of scratch.

not really scratch, but all we had was the black corset!
still a great achievement right? yay!! thank you!

a last photo before ending the night, isn't the flower crown lovely?

AND GUESS WHAT!!
someone approached us and asked to borrow our costume for Pharm night next March
*SUPER BANGGA*

thanks a lot to my partner who helped a lot in things I totally cannot do, and also the model who sacrificed a lot of time which should be used to study/ complete assignment T.T.

i might just change my favourite colour to blue instead.

Meanwhile
i accidentally stumbled onto a whole new challenge
gonna take photos with Instagram but shall post them here
because instagram is too mainstream

let's see what i can do. =)

my day 1. had a big red bite of freshness after breakfast this morning.

question to self: should i then continue with my normal day posts?

11.02.2013

hello! blogging at this hour because sucky internet is being sucky again
and i don't want it to fail me tomorrow. haha
so despite my laziness, we finally still baked something
or more like cooked something
Batik Cake! because it requires no baking, just mixing and cooking =D
got the recipe from the internet. once in a while my handwriting look nice. heehee

Ingredients needed are:
Marie Biscuits (the recipe says 250g but you don't really need that much)
200g of malted chocolate drink (eg Milo/ Vico. i mixed Vico with Cocoa Powder)
397ml sweetened condensed milk
4 eggs
150g of butter
1 tsp of vanilla essence

so basically all you have to do is to mix the eggs, chocolate powder, milk and vanilla essence well

then bring to cook at medium heat, changing to low heat when it starts getting sticky.
and when you get a grainy + sticky texture as above, you remove it from the stove

and spread it in the baking tray, alternating between layers of marie biscuit.

when you've finished using the custard, cover it up and press with your hands to make it more compact!
then, freeze it overnight and it is ready to be served! =D

but the hardest part is cutting the cake.
i got so frustrated cutting the cake last night.
just to show you how it should look like.haha

BUT WAIT! our batik cake tastes really nice! hohoho!
maybe i could use this recipe for something like moist chocolate cake or something
and it has no flour, hence no hassle on having to sieve the flour =D

lastly, another new addition to my room
but because the stickers are actually bought quite a long time ago
they're not as sticky already, and some are folded
so the table and the pair of oxfords are lying on the floor already. haha

oh, good night.
have a sweet dream =D

04.02.2013

OHAYO! =D. haven't been touching my DIY kit for quite some time.
while clearing out my unwanted clothes i came across this pair of super old jeans which is already so fragile
fragile as in it can be actually teared apart. haha. so i decided to make full use of it. =D

=D. and here comes another new collection to my handmade bows. =D

made another one for Miss Froggie as well. heehee
and the few ways i used my bow =D

on a side note, i just wanted to let you know how determined i am to complete this challenge
there is some problem with my laptop's bluetooth, guess how i transfer pictures?
i upload to facebook, download the image, and then upload here again!
and if the photos are from the camera (i haven't abandoned it yet la =D), i transfer using the card reader, upload to facebook, edit with my phone, and later, upload to facebook again, and upload to my blog!
i think i deserve clap clap and some chocolate. hahaha

macarons #2

hello hello
i hope you're not fed up with me yet =( haha

few days ago, we made macarons again!
purple, pink and blue as i mentioned before hehe

see the colour super dreamy! =DD

frankly speaking this time it was worse except for the pink colour ones
because i dunno what went wrong but the mixture became so watery =(

yea the only successful tray was here lol

there were so many failures that couldn't even be removed properly from our baking paper
so they went into our stomach i swear i almost vomited
and my mood was extremely ruined =(

the only pink ones which made us feel a bit better =)

tried taking a nice photo but i don't have a plain glass cup and was too lazy to look for a nicer background. very very near to the verge of giving up =(

i think i'll just pay for macarons the next time == lol
