Batu Pahat Food Hunt 2.0

this is me trying to fully utilize the WiFi when there is. haha.
second time to Batu Pahat, I initially planned to rot in KL for the whole Raya break and maybe go around by myself when I feel like it but thanks to kind friends and sporting coursemates, my week will be packed with fun, food and maybe even some nice photos. =D
drawback of being a trainee teacher is that you get called back to school for extracurricular activities
and in my case, I waited for an hour, sitting on the staircase, for a group of students who never appeared.
I was seriously pissed off, but it's okay, because my holiday was about to start.
btw, am I the only one who think that I look really un-me up there?

after a surprisingly smooth journey, 曼煎糕/apam balik which still tastes as nice!

didn't get to eat any egg tarts, but the colour combination is so nice I must take a photo
my Asian tourist mode was on full blast.

otak-otak

Three layer tea, which fyi, originates from Kuching. thank you.

roti canai made by Chinese. this is so nice because it is thin and a bit more crispy/crunchy/whatever.
just nice la, haha, and totally worth the more than half an hour wait.
not sure if it is because of the holiday, most of the places we went were full of people and we had to wait

Fishball noodles
I don't really love noodles but this was good, the noodles were not too soft and there was this hint of spiciness which made it so unique, nom nom

meet Momo the dog who is super manja

and Rocky. don't be deceived by the size and innocent look, he bites!

err. and talking Tom the cat. haha

also, for the second time, I played mahjong
and they call it newbie luck, I won RM8.

and then.. Dak Gaelbi in Chingooya, which is really similar to Uncle Jang.
I think I am addicted.

went to Ice Town. peanut butter chocolate (right) is da bomb!

I know I should probably stop taking cold food if I don't wanna suffer a couple of weeks later

deep fried nian gao, where I learned never ever to judge a food by it's cover.

this is a big cup of fruit juice, but it seems my hand is too big to show just how big this cup is. haha

Duck noodles.

and we went to Ice Town again. you know how chocolate and banana can never go wrong right?

and I've finally finish our unfinished business in Batu Pahat: to eat the Super Mango in Ice Town,
only to find out that Hui Lau Shan is so much better. haha.

Otak bread

allow me to sidetrack, don't you think my SII's camera quality is still really good? =D
I only did some minor enhancement on the contrast and saturation!

err.. and some filter. lol

breakfast this morning was meat porridge.
again, do not judge by the look, it is totally not plain and boring!

lastly, just in case you forgot my face. haha
my hair is getting more and more like grass.

here comes the question: to cut or not to cut?
*tears hair*

Life

Every single time tragedy strikes, we start to look closely at life and at what we have, what we have overlooked, what we have taken granted. This state goes on for some time and soon we move on and we forget, and we forget to cherish and appreciate. I know that's just really human. But this year has been so full of loss it's depressing. These are real people, real life. Like I said, life goes on we move on, I can't believe popo has been gone for almost a year. Please take a moment to think, I dunno what, but I spent about an hour staring into space letting thoughts tangle and untangle.

more than halfway through practical

so in between all the grumbling and struggling to stay alive
we've somehow reached week 6 of the practical

what do I feel?
I don't know, used to waking up early
getting used to having to teach
getting used to the dreaded Sunday night blue, Monday blue and Wednesday blue
no, not really, no one actually gets used to these
growing to like my students more each day *NOOOOOO*

yesterday I was wondering if they would feel sad when I leave
or would they feel nothing at all
and just this morning
I brought a guitar to class
and shocked a few of them, because they thought it's my last day
and I went a little awwww inside
heh, but the guitar plan kinda failed
cz no one actually listens to Leaving on a Jet Plane, hahaha

DEAR CHILDREN, it's also not a song of my time
I'm as young as you for goodness sake. lol.

I don't know how we managed to survive this far
but somehow, we found solace in cooking and also in food.
hahaha

don't make wild assumptions
I DID NOT GAIN WEIGHT, thank you. =D

I have been really, really healthy.
you no longer see me online at 2a.m lol
and yes, I have been eating so much fruits it makes me so happy

and we also worked out a way to make every Monday less horrible:
to plan for something happy every week

so far we have gone singing, gone for steamboat, cooked spaghetti, made pancakes
and we have like two trips to look forward to after Raya. hahaha
yeap, so for this week it'll definitely be the raya break.
the best thing about being a teacher is definitely the amount of holidays heeehee

somehow I also revisited a lot of memories
this school really does feel alot like my old school
but I personally think we have better netball players. hehehe
taken during an interactive match with players from UK
the girls were adorableeeeee, but gosh, they play like tigers

oh, ya, apart from food
we also found comfort in taking beautiful food photos.
if you haven't already realized, we use all our resources just for photos
like in this case, mahjong paper, and sweater. hahaha

good results deserve celebrations.
this was a day before a holiday and after I checked my results.
for the first ever time, I got an A- for English Proficiency
finally, after SO MANY semesters of feeling lousy...
I love you Miss Kiran!

okay. back to staring at walls.
I can't wait for holidays to start!

Seven-11

It's a Friday again! My second favourite day after Melody's Sundays alone.

But today I broke down in class.
I suddenly saw no point trying to make classes fun
No point trying so hard for them
All I want is effort, I know expecting appreciation is too much
Those blank worksheets and faraway looks, I suddenly felt like a clown blabbering to myself.
I guess that's what happens when you start caring t.t

But I know I can't and I won't give up.
I'll find my way through this
Without giving up on my principles
4S8 you better watch out! *clench fists and laugh evilly*

Haha pardon my morning look. TGIF!!!

KK8 Geniuses Yolo Trip Day 2

hahaha. let me finish this unfinished business
but I am so lazy, so pardon the jumbled up sequence XD
the day before we were all so excited to wake up early and shoot an MV by the pool
sounds quite YOLO for such an un-yolo trip

but sleep prevails and never ever fails. lol.

at least we did something substantial =D

before I got really really tanned by the scorching Melaka sun

haha I know there is only one sun.

went through quite a lot of trouble to get to a nyonya restaurant for lunch
because we took our sweet time to wake up
and not to forget the long travel time from A Famosa to Melaka town T.T
major fail for our planning =X

some retarded friend of mine

like I said, this is a jumbled up post.
so.. SATAY CELUPPPPPP!

GO HOLLAND! *supportive gf* hahaha

group photo with the geniuses

and look what we came across!
TOTORO!!!!!

and a suspicious looking uncle

hi you.

don't you just love how blue the sky is?
I could stare at the blue sky for hours
until I fall asleep
and then stare at the starry night again, for hours.
until I fall asleep, again. haha

Monofisheye at Capitol. =)

不是说好跟车拍照? 车勒? hahaha

I'm running out of caption/description
so I hope you enjoyed scrolling through our quite narcissistic photos lol

and now I suddenly miss swimming

it's a happy day because 4-period Wednesday is over!
which means two more days to my favourite weekend! =D
